"Spinning" Review

Posted by Gigi Ann at 7:31 PM
I finally finished "Spinning" by Michael Baron. It took me longer than it should have. Why? Because I was otherwise occupied with purchasing a Nookcolor, and playing with it, when I should have been reading.

This was an interesting tale about a 29 year old, Dylan Hunter.  He was a man about town, no commitments...until early one morning an old girlfriend, Diane shows up on his doorstep, with her 3 year old daughter, Spring in tow. (No she is not Dylan's daughter) They stay with him for a few weeks, until Diane finds a job. They renew their friendship, and suddenly Diane is killed in a car accident, and in a blink of the eye, Dylan's life has changed completely.

There was alternately humorous and romantic, tragic, playful and dramatic 'Spinning' in this emotion-packed novel. It is the first book I have read by this author, and I really liked it.

I know some have compared him to Nicholas Sparks, but, personally I like Michael's novel much better than Sparks novels. No paranormal surprises in Michaels book. I hated Sparks last two books because of the paranormal garbage he threw in them. I think Michael Baron is an author I will read again.

I am awarding this book 4****

I read this book for my....
"Just For Fun Reading Challenge"
"TBR Mount Reading Challenge,"
"New Author Reading Challenge"
"Romance Reading Challenge."

This book is part of my personal library.

I am so glad you enjoyed it. As you know, I have not read a Sparks' book so was anxious to see what you thought. I am waiting for his next book since I have read and enjoyed every one by Michael Baron.

I've never read Baron or Sparks so not sure what to expect. Sometimes when an author throws in a paranormal element, it does nothing for the story as far as I'm concerned. Glad to hear you got a Nook Color. I love mine!Have fun with it.
